Explanation of Support Designations
When you choose a designation of "Greatest Service Need," Elder Services will choose the fund most in need at that time. You may also choose where you would like your donation designated from the list here:
Elder Care Fund
Elder Services Elder Care Fund provides seniors with one-time only funding for emergency expenses for which they have no other resources, such as to purchase medications, fans and air conditioners to help avoid heat exhaustion, clean new mattresses and other necessities. This fund relies completely on donations, so your help would be much appreciated.
Elder Independence Appeal
The annual Elder Independence Appeal provides much-needed funding for any Elder Services’ programs that are under-funded that year. Your gift will be directed to the programs and services that most need help.
Meals On Wheels
Elder Services’ Meals on Wheels program provides nourishment for seniors who are homebound, and cannot perform many of the simple tasks needed to prepare a hot meal. Elder Services’ Meals on Wheels program provides not only a hot meal, but also a wellness check. In many cases the interaction the senior has with the driver is the only personal contact a senior has that day. Please consider supporting this essential community program.

Please consider remembering Elder Services in your will by creating a bequest – a Lasting Legacy expressing your compassion and caring for seniors. It just takes a simple designation in your will and will not affect your cash flow during your lifetime. Bequests of any size can be made to Elder Services by arranging with your lawyer to amend your will or create a codicil (amendment) to your will that contains a statement similar to the following:
“I, (name) give (dollar amount) or (percentage of residuary estate) to Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. for its general charitable purposes.”
You can also name Elder Services of Berkshire County as the beneficiary of your life insurance, retirement fund or 401K retirement fund.
If you are interested in leaving a Lasting Legacy gift to Elder Services, please contact Louisa Weeden (413-499-0524).
